HOME-LESS art installation @ Dorchester Abbey

HOME-LESS consists of four cardboard boxes, supporting a map of Oxford

The cardboard boxes represent the temporary shelters of millions of homeless people worldwide.

The traditional map of Oxford replaces the Oxford Colleges, retail outlets and distinguished Oxford celebrities with:

  • Organisations supporting homeless people
  • Sites of buskers in Oxford
  • Big Issue sellers
  • Portraits and diaries of people who have been homeless

Visitors are invited to enter the boxes and consider, for three minutes, those who live in boxes, or tents, or in their cars, or who sofa-surf along with all their worldly goods and write their thoughts in the comments book, post an image on Facebook or on social media.

Funds raised will go to EMMAUS, a charity helping people out of homelessness.

All the materials used are recycled – boxes from a bicycle shop and the wood from CELL (A previous installation by Adrian and Tim in the Abbey)
