A Recital of Piano Duets and Songs in support of The World Cancer Research Fund, the busking is free with a retiring collection
Felicity Burrell and Glynne Stackhouse have been playing piano duets together for several years, and have given fund-raising concerts in Ipsden, Nettlebed, Swyncombe, Goring Heath, Crowmarsh Gifford and Dorchester-on-Thames.
Felicity studied the piano at the Royal College of Music and the harpsichord at Trinity College of Music. She played with the Veracini Ensemble and later switched to concert administration, working for the Institute of Contemporary Arts, the Ernest Read Concerts for Children, and at Glyndebourne. Locally she worked with the Henley Concerts, the Henley Festival, the English Music Festival at Dorchester-on-Thames, and now helps organise the Music at St Peter’s concerts in Wallingford.
Glynne read Music at Merton College, Oxford, and taught at Trinity College of Music and from 1966 to 1970 at what was then Wallingford Boys Grammar School. He then joined the staff of the British Council and worked in Libya, Italy, Botswana and Germany as well as in London, where he was Head of the Music Department from 1989 to 1996. He was organist at St Bartholomew’s Chapel, Goring Heath, from 2003 to 2016, and chairs the Music at St Peter’s concerts in Wallingford.
